• Then you press the '+' button to add your friends and family. Don't forget to add yourself too!
• Select a user and start tapping price of items on the receipt image.
• Voilà! SplitNow will do the rest.

Upon entering the app, a camera screen will appear. When it is able to detect receipt or document, a white square will appear on screen. Just wait a few seconds, SplitNow camera will auto capture and lead you to the ‘Edit Image’ screen. Just edit the photo as you prefer and you are done!

You can access your photo gallery by tapping the button on the bottom left. Choose your receipt photo, SplitNow will handle the rest!

In cases where the receipt auto-detection box is not showing, you can proceed by tapping the snap button on the bottom center.

‘Edit Image’ screen is only accessible for iPhone when the receipt is being auto-captured or self-captured by tapping the capture button. You are able to edit the image by moving the four corner points to your preferable size and crop it. The cropped image will then be processed in SplitNow.

After scanning your receipt, you will be led to the ‘Split Bill’ screen where your receipt image is shown. On the bottom, you can find a ‘+’ button. Tap it, you will enter the ‘Add Friends’ screen. Type in a unique name, press ‘+’ button to add the person. Once you are done, tap on the ‘Done’ button, you will go back to the ‘Split Bill’ screen with your friends included in the bill splitting process.

When your receipt is shown after scanning, start by selecting a person, and tap on the image where the price of the item is located at. SplitNow is able to recognize the amount and assign it to the person.

Yes, of course you can. After scanning your receipt, tap the '+' button and you will be able to add your friends by entering a unique name for them or select them from your friend list. In a scenario where you add more than one person, they will automatically be grouped. Once you click done, the next time you enter the ‘Add Friends’ page, the group you've added before will show in the ‘Recently’ section.

To delete a person, you tap on the person’s name button from the list of circle buttons located at the bottom of the screen. Then on your top right, you can find a trash bin icon button, tap on it and you will delete that person.

To delete a person, find under the ‘Friends’ section, you swipe left on the specific name, a delete button will appear. Press ‘Delete’ and you will delete that person.

In a scenario where you are sharing a Pizza with Paul and the item is priced at $10.00. After you tap on the amount ($10.00) of the item, you then select Paul and tap on the same highlighted box of the item again.
The app will prompt you for an information box, select the ‘Share’ button, then you can see the item is equally divided, which is $5.00 each between you and Paul.

Yes you can. If the item is selected by another person, to select it again, simply tap your name button, tap on the highlighted item box. The app will prompt you for an information box, select ‘Single Item’, then you can see the item amount is assigned to you.

In a scenario when the app is unable to detect the amount or has detected the amount incorrectly, you are able to edit the amount by tapping the highlighted item box.
Upon tapping, you will enter the ‘Edit Amount’ screen where you can edit the amount, change the quantity of the item or delete the item. Our team is continuously improving SplitNow to be more intelligent and accurate.

To delete an item assigned to you, tap on the highlighted item box, it will bring you to an ‘Edit Amount’ screen. On your top right hand corner of the screen, you will find a trash bin icon, tap on that and you will delete the item.

Once you have selected the item, a highlighted item box will appear. Tap on the highlighted item box, you will see a quantity stepper right below the amount. By increasing the value of quantity, multiplication of the item amount will be assigned to you.

Let’s discuss a simple example, Peter ate 2 portions of pizza priced at $10.00 each. After tapping on the price amount, tap the highlighted item box to enter edit mode. Increase the quantity stepper value to 2. Now Peter will have $20.00 ($10.00 X 2) assigned to him.

You can input your tax at the ‘Tax’ field in the form of percentage(%), press ‘Done’ button, and tax calculation will be included! If the restaurant does not have tax, you can put 0, SplitNow will not include tax calculation in your bill.

You can input your service charges at the ‘Other Charges’ field in the form of percentage(%), press ‘Done’ button, and other charges calculation will be included! If the restaurant does not have other charges, you can put 0, SplitNow will not include other charges calculation in your bill.

In the ‘Split Bill’ screen, find the ‘TAX’ button located at bottom of screen, you will enter the ‘Tax Settings’ screen. You can input your discount price at the ‘Discount’ field in the form of an amount($0.00), press ‘Done’ button, and the discount calculation will be included! If you don’t have discounts on your bill, you can put 0.00, SplitNow will not include discount calculation in your bill.

‘Tax’ is meant for the tax implemented in the restaurant shown in your bill. For SplitNow, ‘Tax’ is calculated based on each individual’s total expenses and multiplied with the percentage of your input. An example would be:

In a bill of two friends, Sally and Jason,
Sally has a total of $5.00;
Jason has a total of $7.50;
After applying 6% of Tax, Sally’s total will become $5.30. From her own total amount, calculated Tax is $0.30.
After applying 6% of Tax, Jason’s total will become $7.95. From his own total amount, calculated Tax is $0.45.

For ‘Other Charges’, it actually meant any form of extra charges such as Service Charges, Tips, Corkage Fees and etc. For SplitNow, we calculated ‘Other Charges’ based on each individual’s total expenses and multiplied with the percentage of your input.
Taking the same example above,

If the restaurant Sally and Jason went has 10% of service charge,
Sally’s total $5.00;
After applying 10% to ‘Other Charges’, calculated service charge is $0.50;
Now Sally’s grand total including Tax and Service Charge will be $5.00 + $0.30(Tax) + $0.50(O.C) = $5.80

In a bill, sometimes there are discounts and SplitNow helps you split discounts among your groups. A simple example on how this works, A group of 5 has a $10.00 discount on their total bill, each person will get an equal $2.00 discount on their individual total.

However, there are cases where the discount cannot be equally distributed to each individual. SplitNow will randomly choose someone in a group to bear the minimal difference depending on the amount. A simple example on this,
A group of 3 has a $10.00 discount on their total bill, therefore SplitNow will calculate the discount portion as $3.33, $3.33, and $3.34. One randomly selected person from the group will have a $3.34 discount on their individual total, and the others will have a $3.33 discount on their individual total.
